    Synopsis

I FELT LIKE I WAS TRAPPED IN ONE OF THOSE TERRIFYING NIGHTMARES…
For Bella Swan, there is one thing more important than life itself: Edward Cullen. But being in love with a vampire is even more dangerous than Bella ever could have imagined. Edward has already rescued Bella from the clutches of one evil vampire, but now, as their daring relationship threatens all that is near and dear to them, they realize their troubles may be just beginning. . . .
Legions of readers entranced by the New York Times bestseller Twilight are hungry for the continuing story of star-crossed lovers Bella and Edward. In New Moon, Stephenie Meyer delivers another irresistible combination of romance and suspense with a supernatural spin. Passionate, riveting, and full of surprising twists and turns, this vampire love saga is well on its way to literary immortality.

    Publishers Weekly

Not since TV's Buffy "the Vampire Slayer" Summers battled demons in the halls of Sunnydale High has a teenager faced the number of monsters that Bella Swan does in Meyer's melodramatic sequel to Twilight. Bella's vampire boyfriend Edward and his unusual clan are joined by an ancient pack of werewolves-also with connections to Bella-in a story that's got romance, adventure, thrills and even a quick detour to Italy. Thanks to Kadushin's (who also read Twilight) consistently smooth delivery and her plausibility as a teen navigating heartbreak, hormones and confusion, listeners are likely to hang on for the many fever-pitch moments of suspense here, even if the lengthy tale could have used some pruning. November 22, 2009: I never thought reading a book about vampires could be so captivating, but after reading New Moon, the sequel to Twilight, I couldn't stop thinking about the story.

It takes place in Forks, a small town in Washington. In the previous book, Twilight, Bella, the main character, meets and falls in love with Edward, a vampire. In the beginning of the book (New Moon), Edward leaves Bella, thinking that it would be best for her health, seeing as he is always putting her in danger with the vampires. As Bella goes through the depression of losing her true love, she begins to fall in love with her best friend Jacob. One day Jacob becomes very sick and next time Bella visits him, he has turned into a werewolf. Bella soon learns, the wear wolf's biggest enemy is vampires. Lucky for Bella, Edward had already left, but not for long.

When Edward's sister, Alice, has a vision of Bella jumping off a cliff, she gets the impression that Bella is killing herself and eventually Edward finds out and goes at once to Italy to ask the most powerful vampires, The Voultri, to kill him. Once Bella and Alice figure out what Edward is trying to do, they go to save him and make it just in time. Soon they find out that Edward must make Bella a vampire too if she wants to stay alive; Bella has no issue with the thought of being with Edward forever, but Edward refuses to make her one of "them".

The second book of the series targets teens and contains many scenarios in which girls can relate to. When Edward returns, Bella has to choose between Jacob and Edward. This is a tough decision many teenagers of Bella's age have to make. In the book, I loved how Jacob eventually grew on Bella as more than a friend, and while having to cope with the loss of Edward she began to fall in love with Jacob. She was finally beginning to recover from her broken heart until she had to save Edward. There was no doubt that she needed to save him. Though she had Jacob, she was always going to love Edward and Stephanie Myer made that very clear. Because Myer continued to include throughout the book that Bella always wished Jacob could be her brother, rather than her lover, Myer made it easy for us to predict that Bella would still choose Edward over Jacob because Edward had her heart forever.

This book was very enjoyable to read and impossible to put down. With heart racing, exciting chapters one after another, it always kept you wondering what would happen next. The book has great detail and strong emotion. The book was well written, always keeping the reader wanting more. It was a strong eight out of ten, beating the original book, Twilight. The Twilight series includes four great books, all highly recommended. After reading New Moon I was very pleased with the outcome and the overall work of Stephanie Myer.

November 21, 2009: The first book, Twilight, must be read first and it is my favorite of the series. The series is a very simple story of cross-star lovers- given the fact that one of them is a vampire and the other is a mortal. This book very good; it is taken to a surpising element of what a fan would expect and it is much more emotional than the first one.

I Also Recommend: Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, Twilight.
