    Synopsis

From humble beginnings in Tupelo, Mississippi, Elvis Aron Presley went on to become the most famous figure in pop culture history. Rediscover the highlights of his life and career in this pictorial biography, which follows The King from his early days with Sun Records through his extensive movie career to his resurgence as a vital music star in the seventies.

The brief introduction summarizes Elvis' many achievements as well as points out the many different perceptions that people have of this enigmatic superstar. Chapter one, The Early Days, is a look at Presley's childhood and the beginnings of his career as a musician. Chapter two, Elvis in the Army, concentrates on 1958-1960, the years during which Elvis was with the U.S. Army. In 1956, Elvis starred in his first motion picture. He would go on to appear in thirty-two more over the next thirteen years; chapter three chronicles Elvis' extensive movie roles and is filled with stills from these films. It was also during this period that Presley married. Chapter four, The Final Decade, follows The King through the last ten years of his life. Presley returned to music, touring extensively and putting on some of the most impressive concerts in show business history.
