      July 23, 2006: I seem to be the same age as the author and really enjoyed reading about growing up during the 60's and 70's in a midwestern town filled with factory workers. Sometimes I forget what life was like back then, but Burning Tulips made me remember that good and the bad about growing up, which was a good thing, even if it wasn't easy.
