Synopsis
Shimmer is a classic tale of good versus evil. The story takes place in the early 1950s between two twelve-year-old friends, David Peterson and Tommy Chandler. Their friendship will be put to the test as Zeke Morrison suddenly appears to disrupt their lives. Zeke forces Tommy and David into his world where the boys learn he is not a human. Zeke transforms into a wolflike creature. Tommy and David have been brought into his world as food for his pack. The boys are not the only ones to be surprised as Zeke watches David transform also. The two friends struggle for survival and to maintain their sanity and friendship as they search for a way home.

December 23, 2007: A thrill ride a minute. A truly original story line. I found this book hard to put down and found myself allotting time in my busy schedule so that I could resume reading and find out what would happen next. Just when I thought the ending had been set the author took me on another avenue of thought and left me pondering what will the future hold. I look forward to this books sequel to see what the author might have in store. If you find this book causing you to think about loyalty, truth, God, injustice, family ties and death you will not be alone. Perhaps the Shimmer for each of us is just a breath away.

September 10, 2007: A.W.Nutter has a masterful gift of description and his characters in this book have real presence and clear direction. There was no mystery in which of his characters are the villains and who have the courage and honor. This doesn't change that there are many surprises and twists that are not expected by the reader. One of my favorite parts in the story was when different characters tried to explain 'The Shimmer' even though it was so unbelievable? There are some clear questions asked in this story how faithful are you in what you believe and how much are you willing to sacrifice for what or whom you trust in? 'The Shimmer is very captivating, intriguing, most interesting and it was hard to put down after I started reading it. It is definite a keeper to put into your library and read over and over, and be as refreshing each time.
