Hydrology for Engineers, Geologists and Environmental Professionals integrates the subjects of surface, subsurface, and contaminant hydrology. It prepares the reader to analyze today's environmental problems. The author presents the fundamental concepts of physical and contaminant hydrology of watersheds, rivers, lakes, soils, and aquifers in an easy and accessible manner to the environmental professional. Many practical examples and solved problems illustrate the concepts. State of the art research on groundwater and contaminant transport modeling is explained in a clear fashion. Hydrology for Engineers, Geologists and Environmental Professionals includes a free copy of KYSPILL, the easiest groundwater pollution model in the market.
"A clear and balanced approach to surface, subsurface, and contaminant hydrology... The author should be congratulated for putting for the first time such diverse set of topics into one coherent text, successfully linking hydrological sciences and environmental protection... The main characteristic that makes this text different from other texts in hydrology is less emphasis on a physical description of the processes and more attention to practical application... numerous examples which will be of great value to students and practitioners...nicely designed...appealing graphical presentations... a good source of references... a useful addition to many libraries... recommend it to professionals in the field of environmental hydrology."

October 08, 2001: Serrano's book is easy to read, easy to understand, and consistent. While most textbooks put you to sleep, Hydrology is actually interesting. Dr. Serrano explains the subject so well that no previous knowledge of Hydrology is needed. The examples follow the text and link the different ideas together. The variable names are the same throughout the book, facilitating integration between concepts. By far the best textbook I've read.
