Serena hasn't been herself lately. She has been having sudden lapses of memory and acting like a completely different person one she doesn't like very much. To add to her confusion, she knows that someone has been following her. It all started the night an elderly woman helped her. Now Serena is beginning to wonder, who was that woman? And what has she done to Serena?
Serena, a moon goddess with the power to read minds, is possessed by the spirit of a woman who, in the thirteenth century, betrayed the evil Atrox and has now entangled Serena and herself in a plot to overthrow him.

September 06, 2008: Now that I think about it, this reminds me of that one ep on that show Johnny Quest that involved ghost lovers in Jessie and Johnny (classic ep BTW). We have Serena who is possessed and must find a way out until she's trapped forever.

November 07, 2007: Possession is a fantasy book by Lynne Ewing. It is the eighth book of the Daughters of the Moon series. This book is the best book in the series so far. Lynne Ewing?s use of details made it like the story was alive. The book is also very suspenseful too. Possession takes place in Los Angeles, California taking place right about now. The girls are always partying at clubs or at school. During the book, the main character, Serena Killingsworth, gets into some trouble. First she bumps into an old lady coming home from cello practice. Then, Serena starts losing her memory and doing things she normally would not do, like kissing Michael Saratoga! Serena has the power to read minds and likes to read her tarot cards. She usually reads the cards for classmates, but this time she reads her tarot cards for herself after she starts to lose her memory and it comes up with a bad sign. She then goes to a club with her friends and sees the car that has been following her all around, with a license plate STAR. In the car is the old lady and Serena steals her ID information. When Serena finally figures what is happening to her, she decides to jump off a cliff! Luckily, she does not get hurt. Possession is in 3rd person. Lynne Ewing?s choice of vocabulary makes it very easy to read, but there are a few Spanish words in the book, so it can get confusing. Ewing?s use of adjectives and adverbs create a clear picture. I highly recommend this book to middle school girls because of the content in this book. This book had me sitting on the edge of my seat because of all the conflicts going on.
