      Synopsis

Boynton is back! Joining Barnyard Dance! and Birthday Monsters!, here is Hey! Wake Up! a good-morning book with the irrepressible language, the inimitable illustrations, the irresistible cast of characters only Sandra Boynton could create.

      Yawn.

      Stretch.

      Touch your toes.

      Shimmy shimmy shimmy,

      Wiggle your nose.

Just watch out for the broccoli stew. (Ew.)

      School Library Journal

PreS-Two rhyming board books that present familiar concepts. The first one introduces morning activities such as yawning, stretching, breakfast, getting dressed, and playtime. The second title looks at the various sleep outfits that the endearing creatures put on before joining a pajama party: "Pajammy to the left. Pajammy to the right.-Everybody's wearing them for dancing tonight." Everyone finally settles down, the lights are turned out, and wishes are shared for a hushed good night. Boynton's characters are as lovable as ever, all with expressions sure to win over toddlers.-Olga R. October 13, 2009: My daughter w as only 19 months when we got this. After reading this only once she started saying "Hey! Wake up!" Now (22 months) she flips thru and "reads" the story on her own. I recently saw a parent read this book at daycare on parents day and all of the kids really enjoyed yawning & stretching with the characters.

I Also Recommend: Moo, Baa, La La La! (Boynton Board Books Series), Going to Bed Book, Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb.
