    Synopsis

Journeys to the end of the world, fantastic creatures and epic battles between good and evil - what more could any reader ask for in one book? The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, written in 1949 by C. S. Lewis, has it all. But Lewis did not stop there.

Six more books followed, and together they became known as The Chronicles of Narnia.

For over fifty years, The Chronicles of Narnia have transcended the fantasy genre to become part of the canon of classic literature. Each of the seven books is a masterpiece, drawing the reader into a land where magic meets reality, and the result is a fictional world whose scope has fascinated generations.

Perfect for gift-giving or to add to your own collection, the signature edition presents all seven books - unabridged - in one magnificent volume. A lavishly illustrated collectible full-color map by the original artist for the series, Pauline Baynes, is included inside. This edition also contains excerpts from Beyond the Wardrobe, the official, indispensable guide to the classic fantasy series and its creator.

Deceptively simple and direct, The Chronicles of Narnia continue to captivate fans with adventures, characters and truths that speak to all readers, even more than fifty years after the books were first published.

    Biography

    C. S. Lewis was famous both as a fiction writer and as a Christian thinker, and scholars sometimes divide his personality in two. Yet a large part of Lewis's appeal, for both his audiences, lay in his ability to fuse imagination with instruction. "Let the pictures tell you their own moral," he once advised writers of children's stories. "But if they don't show you any moral, don't put one in."

December 07, 2008: Yes, I've seen the movies and they are good but compared to the books they are nothing. The world of Narnia is so wonderfully written that it makes your imagination run wild while reading. I absolutely loved the stories and yes, it's a big book but I went through it very quickly.

August 12, 2007: I have never read a more spellbinding set of books in my life. The way these books are written, I realy think everyone should read them. Also, C.S. Lewis has a great vocabulary that every student should strive to achive. As many book reviews say, 'Two thumbs way up!'. I realy can't praise this series enough. I hope you decide to read them. Happy reading!!!
