    Synopsis

Lately Tianna has been feeling unsettled and she can't understand why. She has a great boyfriend, good friends, and for once a good foster situation too. But she just can't shake the thought that something, or someone, is after her. At a skateboarding competition she runs into Justin and Mason-now Outcasts who no longer seem to recognize her. They keep telling her that they have to help her before she "becomes." She has no idea what they mean, but deep down Tianna feels herself changing. She knows that every Daughter has a dark side, but is hers threatening to overtake her?

    Annotation

Tianna no longer knows who to trust when good and evil forces fight over her and rush her toward an uncertain, but crucial, destiny--toward either the moon goddess, Selene, or the ancient evil known as the Atrox.

    Christina Fairman - VOYA

The twelfth book in the Daughters of the Moon series, The Becoming, features Tianna, who for all indications is a happy teen with a steady boyfriend who accepts her telekinetic powers. She has a circle of supportive friends and lives in a stable foster home. Inwardly, however, Tiana is confused and restless. Her fears are confirmed when she seeks advice from a fortuneteller who predicts an unspeakable future of terror. With the help of Jimena, whose memories have suddenly begun to reappear, Tianna learns that she is "the becoming," a designation that links her to the dreaded Atrox. Tianna initially rejects the notion that she is in any way connected to the malevolent force that killed her family, but the tremendous power of the Atrox and her newly discovered history allows evil to gain the upper hand. Readers will be stunned by the story's dramatic conclusion that reveals Tianna's ultimate destiny in the battle between good and evil. Ewing effectively portrays Tianna as a bright young woman who must come to terms with her lot in life. Secondary characters are less effective. Readers will understand the plot even if not familiar with the rest of the series, although Ewing sometimes refers without explanation to a few characters from earlier volumes. These fast-paced, spirited books are sure to be a satisfying read for fans and newcomers alike with their combinations of adventure, suspense, and supernatural foreboding. March 29, 2009: Oh this book was in my opinon the best in the series. The series in its self was great and definetly differnt. But out of all the books i enjoyed reaing this moe the most. The battle between good and evil reached its peak here and the daughters were almost abliterated plunging the world into darkness. The struggles are worth reading if you got this far in the series book 13 is a breeze.
