The picturesque montain ski lodge is the perfect place to spend winter break...if you have a boyfriend! Otherwise, that cozy leather couch in front of the crackling fire looks a lot less inviting. Good thing that there are lots of cute, blond, sweater-wearing ski instructors around to choose from....
This fun, sweet tale of holiday romance on the slopes is the perfect wintertime read!
Samantha thinks that Winter break is supposed to be all about romance, but she is stuck spending hers in a Vermont Inn with her dad, brother, and impossibly perfect new stepmom. Sam is determined to stay indoors and sulkuntil she meets Drew. A blond, beautiful skier, Drew shows Sam how to conquer the slopes and how to kiss, but is Drew really the boy who can melt Sam's heart, or is there someone else at the lodge she should be kissing? Eric is also a helper at the lodge, and Sam finally realizes what is important in a boy and a person, and her vacation life turns around for the better. This is a good story because it truly picks up a piece of a young girl's life experiences. The family relationships also get better throughout the story, providing a fairly realistic experience in the story. There is a nice cover and easy-to-read format. The book lists other "Point Books," along with other series, and information about the author in the back of the book. Overall this is a good book. Reviewer: Naomi Butler

October 01, 2009: Sam's having a rough time of things. Her father just remarried a much younger woman and they are all together on the honeymoon in snowy Vermont. They're spending the time (together with her brother) skiing. Sam has no desire to hang out with her new stepmother, but instead might let loose herself and find her first kiss on the slopes. After a morning of sitting in the lodge, she tags along with some girls her brother met that morning. She heads to the slopes for the first time. While she does fall, she gets some private time with the mega hot ski instructor Drew. Could he be the guy she lets loose with or will someone else catch her eye?
I was surprised to open this book and find VT as the setting. Since I was born there, I <3 reading books about it. Plus it's a cute story that makes me want to sit in front of the fire and reading while drinking cocoa and watching bit fat snowflakes fall softly.Reader Rating:
