    Synopsis

#1 New York Times bestseller Nicholas Sparks turns his unrivaled talents to a new tale about love found and lost, and the choices we hope we'll never have to make.

Travis Parker has everything a man could want: a good job, loyal friends, even a waterfront home in small-town North Carolina. In full pursuit of the good life-- boating, swimming, and regular barbecues with his good-natured buddies--he holds the vague conviction that a serious relationship with a woman would only cramp his style. That is, until Gabby Holland moves in next door. Despite his attempts to be neighborly, the appealing redhead seems to have a chip on her shoulder about him . . . and the presence of her longtime boyfriend doesn't help. Despite himself, Travis can't stop trying to ingratiate himself with his new neighbor, and his persistent efforts lead them both to the doorstep of a journey that neither could have foreseen. Spanning the eventful years of young love, marriage and family, The Choice ultimately confronts us with the most heart wrenching question of all: how far would you go to keep the hope of love alive?

February 06, 2010: I was prepared for... sadness....... Nicholas Sparks usual.......but this book is different. This is a story of love, identity, contemplation, and never giving up. I found the story compelling. It's a fast read and certainly not boring. Story telling that keeps me interested is what I look for in a book. I don't usually buy Nicholas Sparks books.....but this one I will recommend, it has a great twist and could add a little happiness to any readers life.

February 05, 2010: Okay before I write this review I will admit beforehand that I am some what biased in the sense that I love Nicholas Sparks no matter what! Now I normally try to keep from reading books out of my age group, I'd like to be able to relate to the characters, so I stay with books where the character's are in their teens or early twenties. This book was the first exception to that(not counting the classics of course) I do admit that this isn't Nicholas Sparks BEST work, but even so I believe that it's very enjoyable and a good read for when you're on a long trip or waiting for a book release and need something to read. It definitely lacked something more... I can't pinpoint what exactly it was and though I did have a huge grin plastered on my face most of the time I couldn't help but feel like there was more missing when I finished. Maybe Part Two needed to be longer I'm not sure but even so it was a great read. I read the book at a 'normal' pace over the course of two days and not once did I feel that I wasn't in the mood to continue I didn't however let the book interfere with my duties in life. So like I said this is a book you could easily read again, it definitely has it's funny moments and as expected from Nicholas Sparks at times you will inevitably shed some tears. It's one of those books you shouldn't overlook especially if you're a big NS fan.

I Also Recommend: A Walk To Remember, The Last Song, The Last Song, Dear John.
