A monkey uses its fingers and hands to beat on a drum, "dum ditty, dum ditty, dum, dum dum!" More monkeys come and join in the fun, drumming, picking fruit, shaking hands, and strumming banjoes. The catchy rhythm of this rhyming text sweeps the reader along, creating an infectious and riotous romp.
A madcap band of dancing, prancing monekys explain hands, fingers, and thumbs to beginning readers. Full color.

September 05, 2009: This was a book I read to my two daughters when they were young. Now I bought it for my grandsons (2 and 1) and they LOVE it too. The rhythm and repetition is engaging and they both wanted to hear it over and over. Their 7 year-old sister even reads it to them when I'm not there.
