    Synopsis

Michael Isikoff was a central figure in the Clinton scandals -- from Paula Jones to Monica Lewinsky -- as the reporter who was instrumental in breaking the stories. As a reporter for The Washington Post and Newsweek, Isikoff has been involved in criticizing and revealing Clinton's behavior for years. This account of his experiences reveals the difficulty of cutting through the White House propaganda to reach the truth.

    USA Today - Bill Nichols

Isikoff's book is important because he, more than any other reporter, saw this story from the ground up. If future historians relish having Uncovering Clinton to study, future history students will marvel at how unlikable and mendacious all the principal characters really were.

June 05, 2000: I guess I'm somewhere in the middle of the other reviewers. I appreciated Issikoff's detail, and there were many interesting facts that Issikoff pointed out that I wasn't aware of (like Vince Foster's last words). But I think the real impeachable offense was the China scandal. If that thing is true, then Clinton should have been impeached, that is much worse than anything Nixon ever did. I'm disappointed at the significant investigative efforts that have gone into semen-stained dresses and wired lunch conversations. I would have rather that Issikoff and the other highly qulalified people plunge their energies into what really happened with nuclear arms and China.
