May 16, 2001: Ms. Morgan presents her hypotheses clearly, logically, and in entertaining fashion. As a student of anthropology, I found the information in this book valuable. Superbly readable and scientifically sound.

June 18, 2000: This book is one of a very small number that have changed not only my mind, but the way I look at people and their interactions. More than just 'a woman's place' in evolutionary history, it provides a rationale for current behaviors of men and women. It provides a rational, understandable, coherent explanation for some of the interactions we see today. If read with an open mind, the reader will never be able to look at people and wonder why they act that way. Elaine Morgan provides the most coherent, rational answer I have ever found. She takes each of the theories of human behavior and demonstrates why they are inadequate to explain the observable facts of our existence. Science is provding the hard evidence to support her theory. To top it all - it's an extremely enjoyable book, that you will read again and again.
