October 05, 2006: The comics themselves are sure awesomeness. Really great, going through first adventures of the Four, and also finding out what comics were like all those years ago, before we all took them waay too seriously. It wold be perfect if not for the format. OK, the quality of the reprint is outstanding, they definitely pulled out the stops in getting the original color on glossy paper, considering that wasn't the kind of paper it was originally intended for. I have slight gripes in that here isn't much in terms of additional material, just a short intro from The Man Stan Lee. Some foreword from an industry expert explaining why the comics where good would have been great. Actually, I totally see space there for several articles, like maybe something about the era it was made, what the comics industry was like, the collectible value, Kirby and Lee's story... even just one of these stories would have been great. They're now publishing a F4 Omnibus, issues 1-100 and first Annual. Still no extras, but what the heck.
