I admire what Lalita Tademy has done, writing fiction from fact to rbing to life what would otherwise be lost...

January 02, 2010: Usually I have such a hard time getting through Oprah's selections - too deep but this was a terrific book. Interesting characters, mostly true story. Fasinating family.

October 27, 2009: I totally enjoyed the book and Ms. Tademy's writing style. My only problem with the book is that it suddenly ended and I could have continued to read about another few years of this amazing family of very strong women and what they did to survive. Very interesting reading.
