March 12, 2006: Max Yoho has scored another hit in the same spirit of his earlier book, THE REVIVAL. Once again, his young protagonist, this time Wally Gant, must contend with the vicissitudes in the lives of the adults in his small Kansas town, lovable innocents or rascals all, while finding his own way. The probable and improbable rub shoulders in this hilarious story told in Yoho's signature style. THE MOON BUTTER ROUTE is sheer fun.

February 21, 2006: There are many writers in Kansas, but only Max Yoho has tackled humor. With his latest offering, The Moon Butter Route, he has joined the ranks of Ambrose Bierce, Artemis Ward and Mark Twain with regional humor that appeals to all Americans. THE MOON BUTTER ROUTE is Yoho's third novel, and all of them contain the dry wit, the tongue-in-cheek puns, and the human emotions evoked by the close of the World War II era. A young boy finds when he takes a job with a diary that he is delivering more than milk--he is working for a moonshining operation in southeastern Kansas. The youngster struggles with his own maturing feelings, with life after the Great Depression and the war years, and with the unique character of that part of the country. A coming of age novel as salty as Catcher in the Rye but with enough twists to keep readers from that era grinning through each page, THE MOON BUTTER ROUTE appeals to a broad audience. It is highly recommended to readers who recall that time, and to those who would like to know what it was to grow up then. But anyone who wants to pick up a book that will make them laugh out loud should read THE MOON BUTTER ROUTE.
