February 03, 2005: I loved the book! ....In a nutshell, this book brought me back to the days of yesteryear - most people have fond memories of the past ('They were the good old days.... Carly Simon), and this book not only told a touching story with wonderful characters, but it also brought back emotion and memories of my own childhood and growing up in a similar area just one city away (in New York). The characters especially the immediate family (the mom, uncle Pete, the dad, etc.), became friends and likeable throughout the book. The music and events (i.e. going down to South Jersey) communicated in the book, also triggered off fabulous memories of the past. The part of the book that saddened me the most was the fast forward (out of that era), to the current time... I wanted to stay within this time period/story a bit longer!

November 30, 2004: This book was a great story of courage and inspiration. Get past the first chapter and I promise you can't put the book down. It's a cross between 'Something for Joey' and the 'Sopranos'.
