    Synopsis

Murder Was Never So Much Fun!

When Disco Bloodbath was first published, it created a storm of controversy for its startlingly vivid, strikingly fresh, and outrageously funny depiction of the hedonistic world of the New York City club kids, for whom nothing was too outré -- including murder. Nominated for the Edgar Award for best true-crime book of the year, it also marked the debut of an audaciously talented writer, James St. James, who himself had been a club kid and close friend and confidant of Michael Alig, the young man convicted of killing the drug dealer known as Angel.

Now the book has been brought to the screen as Party Monster, with Macaulay Culkin playing killer Michael Alig and Seth Green as author/celebutante James St. James.

    Baltimore Sun

A vastly entertaining, scarily well-written, and horrifically funny book...even at its most gruesome.

    Biography

James St. James who was once dubbed a "celebutante" by Newsweek magazine, now leads a quiet, sedate existence in Los Angeles, far from the madness that he writes about. This is his first book.

December 15, 2009: Don't read this book unless your high. This has to be the only way to enjoy it. James st James HAD to have been high when he wrote it. I like James St. James. Love the movie Party Monster...Loved it. But the book...I'm so so so glad I got it at a discount. I wish I could return it but can't since I read it. The begining was good. The end was better. It was finally over. It took me 3 hrs to read this book. All James St. James did was ramble, ramble, ramble on an on an on. What a waste. There wasnt even any photos of anyone. In any other true crime book there are pictures of the murderer and victim. He has a myspace page with plenty but not here, not one. I read a page to someone at work. Just picked it out. They were like...you bought that? And they knew all about this incident. Anyone who said this is the most awesome book they read? Please...that's probably the only book they have read.

July 30, 2009: Michael Alig was a sweet kid that was swept away by the New York lifestyle and his need to fit in as a queer teen.James St James REALLY made you see the changes drugs can bring and that life is what YOU make it.If you allow others to turn your path, it could be straight off the deep end ,darling.
