Everyone's favorite time-travelers are changing their style! The Time Warp Trio series now features a brand-new, eye-catching design, sure to appeal to longtime fans, and those new to Jon Scieszka's wacky brand of humor.
At the beginning of summer vacation Joe, Sam, and Fred find themselves trapped inside their summer reading list, involved in a battle between good and evil characters from well-known children's books.
The Time Warp Trio is at it once again. This time, characters from stories on their summer reading list come alive, creating all kinds of crazy mischief in the process. Their only hope is to find "The Book," in which the list has been placed. Their search leads them to Hoboken Library, where Frankenstein is after Pippy Longstocking, Dracula is telling jokes, and Teddy Bear is a raving lunatic! This story is a blast from beginning to end, and kids will be rushing out to buy all the others in the "Time Warp Trio" series.
More Reviews and RecommendationsJon Scieszka is the author of The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs!, the Time Warp Trio series, The Stinky Cheese Man, and a truckload of other books that inspire kids to want to read. His work as an elementary school teacher and as founder of a literacy initiative for boys (www.guysread.com) drove him to create Trucktown, a crazy, fun action series for the youngest readers.

November 03, 2008: This entire series is perfect for engaging reluctant boy readers. The stories are funny, action-packed, and very exciting. This particular entry in the series contains references to many classic pieces of literature, as well as some more contemporary classics - a great way to introduce elementary school students to famous characters. Scieszka showcases his passion for reluctant boys in this engaging story "about the power a book has to grab you...literally" (Bushek).

November 17, 2003: I loved this book!!! I am an elementary education major working on a book list for an EDU class at my college and I stumbled onto this book. I am also a theater director for an afterschool theater program for students in grades first-through-fifth grade. This book inspired me and my students to create a play based on the book. (And yes, we wrote the publisher for permission)We have worked out lines for children to say, added a few characters (I have 44 students)and designed a wonderful set!!! This book now comes to life in our eyes, literally!!!!
