June 13, 2008: This book is well researched and insightful. It convinced me more than ever that all children, even school aged ones need a mother in the home when they are. While alot of what she writes is based on her interpretation, she nevertheless backs alot of it up with other's educated viewpoints as well.

April 22, 2005: It's useful to consider the author's viewpoint. However, I have no choice at the moment but to have my child in group care. I was upset about that initially but find that she has benefited from it in a number of ways. When our second is born I will stay home and regret that we won't be able to afford school for her anymore. Also, the author watches way too much Oprah-she quotes Oprah all the time. (If she's such a dedicated mom, where's she getting all the time for watching Oprah?) Not a researched based book, only some mother's opinion. We've all got those.
