September 14, 2004: This was my first introduction to the Audrey Wilson Mystery Series. I look forward to reading more about Audrey, Renita and Bobby. All of the characters in this story were interesting, complex and believable. Audrey is the glue that holds her family together. She was determined to find the truth about Simone's death and clear her brother of murder charges, even when she wasn't sure that the truth would set him free. Simone had a very tragic life. She never really had anyone in her corner. But, as Audrey read Simone's journals, she became a champion for Simone and the son she left behind.

May 11, 2004: First but not last time reader of this series. There are so many levels that are touched on in this book. But the character of Simone who was an abused child and grew up to be a stripper trying to raise a young child was deeply moving to me. I can't wait to see the next installment to see how her son Simon ends up. The other story lines were fast paced and interesting. This is a real page turner and must read.
