    Synopsis

In this companion book to her successful Nonverbal Learning Disabilities at Home, Pamela Tanguay addresses issues related to the academic education of the child with NLD and related conditions. Topics such as school placement, program modifications, and social/emotional issues are covered, as well as specific teaching strategies, from how to deal with essay questions, to tips on helping the student master long division, and ideas for improving reading comprehension. The author defines and discusses concepts such as frontloading and a cooperative learning environment, and explains how they benefit the student with NLD and related conditions.

October 20, 2006: Non-verbal learning disorder is new to us. We know alot about Sensory Integration, since we have a daughter with now both disorders. Our friend and daughter's tutor check the book out of the library for me and now my daughter makes sense to me. The book is well written, simple and very practical solutions. Now that I have read parts of the book, I want to purchase this and her parents guide. Well worth it.

October 25, 2002: This book is a must for the individual that has been hired to work with someone that has this disability. I have only known my student three weeks but this book has helped me to understand the world that she lives in. The whole process of working with these pupils has been explained in plain English. It was well worth the money and a must read!
