      Synopsis

When alien invaders from Mars mercilessly attack London, the British throne quickly calls upon the League to protect the empire. When one of the members dies a horrific death, the members must call upon Dr. Moreau as their last desperate hope.

      The Washington Post

O'Neill is at the top of his game, and he matches Moore's writing in quality and style. His visualization of Moore's Britain is full of warm, bright colors, and he fills the frames with tiny inside jokes, including a Bleak House hotel and a Peter Rabbit being mauled on the side of the road. There's enough sex, treachery, murder and tentacled aliens to satisfy any Victorian sensibility, but there is less suspense (and less surprise) in this volume. — Jessa Crispin

July 24, 2004: Not as good as League Vol 1, but close. Parts of Issues 4 and 5 will creep people out, but this is counterbalanced by one of the best interpretations of the War of the Worlds ever. If you enjoy Moore's work, get this book!
