May 24, 2003: David L. Thompson's River of Memories: An Appalachian Boyhood is an excellent book for men and women of all ages. It is honestly one of the very best books that I have ever read. Through his own memories, the author reveals the true Appalachian way of life that no longer exists. He reminds us of the importance of family, friends, and faith in God. This is one of those books that does something wonderful for the soul, and reveals many life lessons as well.
