      Synopsis

A gripping true story about the life and death struggle of a young gang member for survival, his courage, and his ultimate victory through prayer.

      The Oakland Tribune

"A gut-wrenching, heart-pounding, insightful book. This in-your-face autobiography rips through the streets, depicting fights, death, fear and survival against odds many did not survive. . . difficult to put down because Normis spins a great story."

August 13, 2008: This book is annointed because it is written from the heart. This is a fast paced first person account of a survivor, straight out of the mean streets of the east side, Every and Any City, in California. Some survivors it would seem are the recipients of dumb luck. This one has a message that hits you straight in the heart. Fast paced from start to finish, some books just stay with you after you read the last page. This is such a work and it is hard to put this testimony down, it is a page turner. The Last Street Fighter explains with clairity the progression of youth violence from one who was there when the fist fighting ended and the shooting began. This is done in a unique way, in the form of a true story. Gen X is unique in that they were a witness to the before and after of these post modern serious issues. The trends start there in California, so yeah these issues are coming to a neighboorhood near you, soon, if not already. This is just a good book and would interest anyone who cares about young people period.

June 07, 2005: I finished this book in five days and could not put it down, for this reason I give it five stars. The Last Street Fighter for me answered more questions then any other work I have read in this genre. It is unique in that it explains the progression of lethal youth violence in a way that I have not heard before. In the from of a true story. It does a good job of walking you in the shoes of a young street fighter at a time in history, in trend seting Califronia, when the fist fighting ended and the shooting began. It also explains all the social issues at the time that pushed the envelope to the gunfire that we see today and have seen ever since. This book is deep, with redemption and positive take away. I applaud this work and recommend it to the young and any one who cares about young people
