    Synopsis

Great classic by preeminent prose satirist of the English language, written with disarming simplicity and careful attention to detail. An enchanting fantasy for children; for adults, a witty parody of political life in Swift's time.

    Annotation

The voyages of an Englishman carry him to such strange places as Lilliput, where people are six inches tall; Brobdingnag, a land of giants; an island of sorcerers; and a country ruled by horses.

    Biography

Jonathan Swift is a lecturer at St. Martin's College, Lancaster, and also an honorary research fellow at Lancaster University History Department.

David Case is the founder and current president of Live Free Ministries, a ministry dedicated to restoring kingdom power and authority to spiritual leadership. Since the early 1990s, David Case has held retreats for both pastors and lay persons, helping them break through bondages and pointing them toward fulfilling the call of God on their lives. Having pastored the same church for eighteen years, Pastor Case gives other pastors the tools they need to implement the lifegiver model into a whole-church setting. Case also co-hosts a radio program and ministers internationally. It is David Case's heart to blend "the supernatural of the spiritual realm" with a very solid application into the natural realm.

August 03, 2009: Johnathan Swift creates a dramatic novel that takes place on peculiar islands that Gulliver comes in contact with. He creates an image human kind and exagerates their imperfections with the people he comes across. For instance the 6 inch people of Lilliput or the Giants of another island. He shows that human kind with all of its imperfections is completely corrupted as he comes across the yahoos of the Hounyums. It wasan overall great read and will excite any reader. As classics go this is one of the best.

April 24, 2007: Gulliver's Travels is a work of art when examining 'cival' society, what is even more exciting is how much American society could learn from Swift. The book is dry, so watch the miniseries it is great and the whole point is the satirical humor, which makes it all the more interesting. If you pay attention to the meaning of it and understand what Swift is saying then you will enjoy it people dislike things they dont understand.
