Sarah Breedlove, better known as Madam C.J. Walker, was born in Madison Parish and ultimately rose from a lowly washerwoman to the first black female millionaire in the United States. Biography

Author Richard P. Sevier spent his entire early life in Tallulah, the parish seat of Madison Parish. Currently a semi-retired geological and financial consultant in Jackson, Mississippi, Sevier is the coordinator of two Madison Parish genealogical-historical websites, as well as the state coordinator for digital historical maps for Louisiana and Mississippi.
