September 18, 2001: Dr. Brand helps us understand that pain is a gift from God that tells us, 'STOP!' It also can say, 'GET HELP NOW!' Whether the pain is physical, emotional, or spiritual...it is a protection against letting things go too far or too long. Pain actually can keep us safe! This book was such a comfort. I recomend it to anyone who wonders, 'If there IS a God, why do people have to have pain?'
