August 29, 2009: Theu author tried to write a book about Vin Scully without the cooperation of Mr. Scully. The book does not work. The author seems to try to write the way Vin Scully talks using lots of metaphors and similes. Not only that he keeps jumping back and forth in time and that is very confusing. It just doesn't come off.
The author spends way, way too much talking about way too many other topics related to baseball and baseball announcers. To me it seems like he wrote the book about a myriad of topics, then decided to call it Vin Scully's biography, and then went back and added more information about Scully. All in all I was very disappointed.
