    Synopsis

Christine Feehan, New York Times bestselling author explores the limits of endurance and the boundaries of passion in a life-and-death struggle to survive...

It begins as a mission to protect a politician from an assassination threat. But the operation takes an unexpected turn when Mari, a mysteriously beautiful GhostWalker, is taken hostage. At the same time, Ken Norton, expert assassin and himself a GhostWalker warrior, is on a mission of his own-one that reaches into Mari's own past. No stranger to the ways of violent warfare, Mari must join forces with Ken and trust his every move-each one more intimate than the last.

February 16, 2009: This book appeals to everyone on the most basic human level...everyone needs to be accepted and loved for who they are unconditionally. Can Mari learn to trust this man? Does Ken dare to hope for someone able to look beyond his physical flaws and imperfections, and at last heal his soul! Mari recognizes that true ugliness lies within the monsters responsible for the scars left on Ken's body, and shows him that the beauty of his soul is still intact. A tale of loyalty, passion and pain.

June 28, 2007: I didn't even finish reading this book. The heroine went through way too much. Not as good as her other books in this series. I was very disappointed.
