"To celebrate this beloved book’s 25th birthday, Eric Carle has energized his original artwork, providing bold, fresh colors and his now familiar menagerie." --Publishers Weekly
Children see a variety of animals, each one a different color, and a teacher looking at them.
Many new board books are re-releases of beloved books, now made more durable for babies who will first love the books' rhythm and rhyme in infancy and continue to love the story as toddlers. Among the classics making a new board book appearance is Martin's wonderfully rhythmic Brown Bear with illustrations by one of the best in the business, Eric Carle.

November 22, 2009: In this modern, electronic-oriented world of reading nothing replaces what actually works in teaching children to love reading and to love books [aka e-books]. Our society seems bent on moving away from any concrete evidence that books are reliable mainstays for the modern, savvy reader. Brown Bear, Brown Bear [as this book is so often referred to] is an excellent resource in teaching the love of reading and reinforcing skills needed in any age that honors literacy and good communication.

October 28, 2009: Princess books are now "not cool" in our home! As parents of 2 girls, a 2 year old and an 18 month old, we have to say that this book is a MUST! Our two year old always runs towards anything pink in Barnes and Noble, while we always end up choosing the weekly book purchase for our 18 month old... We picked up Brown Bear and our two year old has put all of her fairy tale books back on the shelf.
This is such a fun book to read to your children. They request it every evening, so much that we want to buy the whole series. They participate in the story and in the end tell us all the animals and their colors. It's so much fun and will create great memories for you and your children. We hope you enjoy this book as much as our family does. Forget Happily Ever After books and start creating your own :)
