January 23, 2009: This is a great book if you are interested in doing something about your body shape and weight. However, as I already owned the original Abs diet book by the same author, I did not feel that this book had anything new to offer me and felt compelled to return it to the store. If you do not already have the original book and want to really do something about your shape and fitness then go ahead and buy it - you will be quite amazed by all it has to offer. It is not a big deal to buy the whey powder - it is sold in lots of supermarkets - it makes the smoothies thick and creamy and very filling. You will need to have a blender though to make the smoothies - no doubt about that. Also if you need a DVD to help with your exercising I can highly recommend the Abs Diet for women DVD as also the previous two in the same range. Of the previous two, I do prefer the Abs diet workout vol 2. Try them - so far, working out and adapting my eating has led to a 6lb weight loss and half inch disappearance around each of my measurements. I am very pleased so far!

I Also Recommend: The Abs Diet for Women Workout, The Abs Diet Workout 2, The 150 Healthiest Foods on Earth, Healthiest Meals on Earth.

July 21, 2008: This book was very disappointing. It says it addresses vegetarianism, but nearly every meal recipe is based on meat. Take out the meat and you're left with nothing interesting. Also, in order to follow the smoothie recipes, you'll have to buy 3 different containers of whey protein as well as a flax product. The workout plan is so disjointed you'd have to take the book with you to the gym to remember what to do and/or write out a chart to keep handy. There was absolutely no new information in here. Everything in moderation, eat low-fat dairy, lean meats, get some exercise. That about sums it up.
