    Synopsis

During Morpheus's incarceration, three dreams escaped the Dreaming and are now loose in the waking world. At the same time, a young woman named Rose Walker is searching for her little brother. As their stories converge, a vortex is discovered that could destroy all dreamers, and the world itself. Features an introduction by Clive Barker.

    Biography

Novelist Neil Gaiman has sent a British businessman tumbling into a fantastic underworld and had a devil and angel comically conspiring to thwart the Apocalypse. He found his biggest success, though, in Death, Dreams and Destruction -- and the four other similarly named siblings who controlled the reins of the human race's emotional impulses in his graphic-novel series The Sandman, a wholesale rejuvenation of graphic fiction that had everyone from Tori Amos to Norman Mailer spinning with, yes, Delirium.

January 10, 2005: As the Dream Lord returns to his Realm of Power, Morpheus has some strings to untangle as he begins to rebuild his Kingdom back to its fullness. Meanwhile, in the waking world, a young girl named Rose Walker and her mother find their link to the past. Unity Walker, Rose?s grandmother and one of the many people affected by the Lord Dream?s imprisonment, wants her family together before she leaves for the afterlife. So, Rose is shipped to Florida, where her brother was last sighted. As she searches for him, Morpheus searches for the Corinthian, an evil sadistic nightmare that was one of four that had escaped the realm of Dreaming after Morpheus? capture. He is also in search of the Vortex: a puissant mortal who becomes the center of the dreaming, bringing all dreams unto itself until it collapses and disappears, leaving nothing but darkness. And as it turns out, all seems to point right towards Rose? Neil Gaiman has got to be one of the best writers I know of in my life. He?s delved deeper into concepts many dared not go. I really love it. I fell in love with his fifth Sandman (first for me) ? Season of Mist?, where Lord Dream went to Hell to retrieve an old love, only to find an arch angel hanging up his keys and walking out from his once proud domain. It was a beautiful piece of art. Crafted with hands and eyes of a well-exquisite artist. Reading the first and second filled the gaps I?ve had while on my journey to complete the whole series. I still have questions that need to be answered. I hope to find them as I travel on in the series. His way with words make you see things in a perspective like you?ve never looked through before. I hope one day to write like him, for he is one of the few authors that I would look up to and remember his name, for I?m not good with names.
