      Synopsis

Cassie Barrett, a world-renowned anthropologist, wakes up in a graveyard and doesn't know who she is. Taken in for a few days by William Flying Horse, a Native American police officer, she waits for her life to re-appear. When Hollywood heartthrob Alex Rivers shows up to claim her as his wife, she is stunned but still doesn't remember anything.

After she returns to her fairytale existence as Alex Rivers' wife, fragments of memory come back but she senses there is a side to her husband that she can't remember. When she finds a positive pregnancy test hidden in her bathroom, dark memories return, allowing her to piece together her past. Frightened, she runs to the only person she trusts to keep her hidden: Will.

Jodi Picoult's story is a tapestry rich in detail and emotion, a beautifully written novel that will deeply reward, and perhaps inspire, its listeners.

      Annotation

Acclaimed storyteller Jodi Picoult presents a moving new novel about a perfect Hollywood couple--and a not-so-perfect marriage. Rich in detail and emotion, filled with human drama and unexpected truths, Picture Perfect is the fairy-tale romance of anthropologist Cassie Barrett and Hollywood leading man Alex Rivers. But who will believe that Cassie is an abused wife?

      The Washington Post

Picoult has become a master—almost a clairvoyant—at targeting hot issues and writing highly readable page-turners about them . . . It is impossible not to be held spellbound by the way she forces us to think, hard, about right and wrong.

September 23, 2009: Normally I love Jodi Picoult's books and will buy anything written by her. This is one of her older books, and definitely not her best. Characters are one dimensional and the main female character is extremely weak. One small piece of the story about horses was laughably ridiculous--Jodi needs to do a little research or consult someone on subjects she is not familiar with. Would not reccommend this book unless you are desperate and have nothing else.

September 19, 2009: This was an enjoyable read. I thought the characters and the story line were very good. Something that most people could relate to on some level. When I started reading Jodi's first book, I almost gave up on her because the story was long and drawn out and hard to follow. This book was enjoyable and seemed to flow very well. I enjoyed it. Its a quick read.
