March 15, 2006: This book provided insight and guidelines for me to properly assist my severely depressed husband and maintain my own sense of self while doing it. A must read for anyone close to a depressed person. I got a copy for our daughter too. I gave the information about the book to our hospital behavioral therapy unit. They did not know about it. So little help is out there for caregivers!

November 12, 2000: I gave this book to my boyfriend when we first started dating, so he could understand what I had been through, what I was going through, and how it might affect him. I simply left it with him, bookmarked a couple of pages that I found insightful, and let him browse through it on his own time. It was so helpful for both of us, so clear, respectful. It makes sense, and makes depression less confusing, scary, overwhelming for both of us. I highly recommend it.
