December 22, 2003: The only up to date guidebook to Chicago architecture and history, concentrating on the Loop area and environs. Written in a lively style and illustrated with archival photos and engravings, plus hundreds of contemporary photos taken by the author. (He's a superb and artistic photographer!). Enjoyed all the tours so far (with my advance copy). Highly recommended for the architecture student, architect, and even the casual tourist interested in buildings and urban history.. . .and I do not work for the publisher or author!
