April 15, 2009: This is a 752 page non-fiction book that I actually enjoyed! I've spent the last two weeks pawing through every book at the library that I could find, about building, contracting, planing a house, etc. And this is by far the best, so good in fact that I'm buying it! I just have to have this for my self! My husband and I want to build a house in the next year, and this is THE place to start. Informative, while not being dry, almost every paragraph has so much useful information, in terms any Joe, Sue or Becky can understand! It's great, in just the few days we've had it we've learned so much, and completely done a 180 on what we were thinking of doing! I'm so excited to build our own home, now! It's great, because I know I can talk knowledgeably with any of our sub-contractors and not get hosed! MUST HAVE for anyone even remotely interested in owning your own home. Not just for those looking to build! Holy Cow! I'll make sure I get one of these for each of my siblings when they get married/move out on their own. It's even fun to read!

January 11, 2003: Tells excellent facts and gives insight to things I had not considered for building my own home. From start to finish, it's a "how to" book that I truly couldn't put down. Very well written.
