    Synopsis

IS THAT A TREBLE CLEF IN YOUR POCKET-

OR ARE YOU JUST GLAD TO SEE ME?

Maggie Gallagher spends her nights with lots of men. Of course, they're all dead composers, but why nitpick? Her love life is just like the musical compositions she researches-undiscovered. It's time for Maggie to let loose and go wild. In a dive bar on Bourbon Street, Maggie makes a real find in the house band's keyboard player. He's hot. Sexy. Flirtatious. Soulful. And she could swear he's playing an unknown piece she's been researching, which is impossible, unless he's dead.

Centuries before he was a badass vampire with a rock-star wardrobe and Big Easy charm, Ren was Renauldo D'Antoni, a composer on the verge of great success until he was betrayed. No one could ever know that, but tonight, the shy strawberry blonde with the big eyes and obviously borrowed outfit actually seemed to recognize his long-lost composition. Now, she wants to know about the composition, and Ren wants to know her.intimately. But what starts as attraction-and distraction-just might lead to the biggest discovery of their lives.

    Publishers Weekly

Musicologist Maggie Gallagher and friends arrive in New Orleans from Washington, D.C., for a much needed vacation. On the grave of a legendary voodoo priestess, Maggie makes a wish for a "hot fling." Later that night, she hears strains of the mysterious sonata she's been hired to authenticate coming from a Bourbon Street bar. Ren Anthony, the man behind the keyboard, is the leader of the Impalers, a bar band specializing in drippy '80s pop. He's also a vampire, or rather, a lampir (an immortal energy sucker rather than a blood guzzler), and in mortal life was Renauldo D'Antoni, a composer born in 1785. Ren, believing all the women he loves are doomed, tries to avoid relationships, but sparks fly when Maggie walks into the bar. Whether or not Maggie can change Ren's mind about getting involved is pretty much all the plot there is, but Love (I Only Have Fangs for You) lets the good times roll while they find out. (Jan.)

January 01, 2010: This was the final book that I read for 2009. I'm a big Kathy Love fan and find most of her stories wonderful to read. This book was no exception. Maggie is a heart broken classical music authenticator from Washington DC who takes a holiday with her two girlfriends to New Orleans. She is also broken in many other ways, her fiance left her at the alter just prier to this trip. While in New Orleans they do the standard tourist stuff by seeing graves, tea leaf readers and listening to music. Maggie stumbles into a bar where a hotty is playing a piece of music. She is instantly drawn to the music. Ren is instantly drawn to her. Turns out he is a vampire with a curse and love isn't in the leafs for either of them - well at least that is what they think. A lovely romantic story.

September 15, 2009: The story was good but no real drama or bad guys in this one, just a lampire who thinks he's cursed, and any woman who falls in love with him will die. I really liked Maggie she was shy and smart and blushed way too much, but likeable. Ren was great and although he had believed his wretched mother cursed his love life he still wanted Maggie, and agreed to have a fling with her in the big easy while she was on vacation. The sex scenes were ok not real "drag the ice out to cool me down" kind of sex, but enough to keep you interested. I really love Kathy Love's books the "Fang Series" those were incredibly fun and funny with all ranges of emotion, but this one fell a little flat for me. I will of course read it many times, and enjoy it, but hopefully in the future Kathy will come up with more of her witty fun and devilishly handsome characters like maxim in "Demon Can't Help It" Overall good read, but a little flat in the romance department and in the thrilling department.

I Also Recommend: Fangs for the Memories, Fangs but No Fangs, Fangs but No Fangs, I Only Have Fangs for You, I Only Have Fangs for You.
