November 12, 2009: This dictionary gives a stardard Japanese-English, English-Japanese reference with some good insights on pronunciation and some grammar points.
The only thing it seems to be missing is a kanji reference listed by stroke-count.I Also Recommend: The Japanese Particle Workbook, Langenscheidt Pocket Dictionary Japanese/English, The Kodansha Kanji Learner's Dictionary, Read Real Japanese Fiction.

August 02, 2009: Of the seven Japanese dictionaries that I own, this one is my favorite for its comprehensiveness and detail, yet it's still fairly light for what it holds. It features romanji, kanji, and kana, and common phrases. I'm still just a student and this book can even be used to help remember some kanji. My only con is that it's got so much stuff in it, even though it's light it's still pretty brick-shaped and big, so it's not always fun to tote around. Other than that, I love this dictionary and it's become a must on my reference shelf.
