    Synopsis

    “Sleek sexy and fun.”
–Susan Sizemore, author of Primal Desires

AFTER THREE THOUSAND YEARS OF ONE-NIGHT STANDS, A GIRL JUST WANTS A LITTLE MORE.

Working for Satan is a hot gig. The Devil really does wear Prada, and Lily can sport all the dazzling fashion she desires, eat all the fabulous food she craves, and hang for all eternity with her three demon girlfriends. But serving up bad boys to the fiery pits of Hell is just getting . . . lonely.

Lily gives the jerks, the creeps, and the liars the best (and last) night of their lives, but she’s tired of waking up to a pile of ashes. She wants a guy who will stick around.

BUT A MYSTERIOUS MAN IS TURNING UP THE HEAT. . . .

Nathan Coleman is a devilishly handsome, laid-back P.I. who wants to ask Lily a few questions about a missing man. But someone–or something–wants Lily and her friends dead, and Nathan seems to know more than he’ll admit to. Can a sweet-talking mortal and a girl from Hell find true love?

    Biography

A third-generation Manhattanite, Nina Harper grew up in a family that had been in the fashion business for fifteen generations. She did not leave the city until, at sixteen, she went to study in France, where she learned shopping in the finest boutiques, and in Rome, where she discovered the joys of Italian clothes and shoes. Today Harper lives a short subway ride from Barney’s, Kate Spade, and Versace. Since a girl can’t shop and sip cocktails all the time, she teaches at a local university.

SPOILER REVIEW if you haven't read this one yetby Miyakawa

June 24, 2009: My vote is still out on this one since I have yet to read the second book. A lot of repeating who and what characters are. I think the plot would've been a lot better if it stuck to the action. I would've loved to know at lease who the informer was by the end of the book. I did however find that the constant detail on her surroundings made it easy to depict where and when the book took place. I have been to Aruba, therefore I enjoyed that bit (I was hoping she would mention the iguanas that highly habitat that island), especially since I did have a huge crush on a local named Martin who worked at the Tommy Hilfiger store. Eh, he was cute and I was eighteen... so it worked into an old fantasy. Despite a lot of reviews I have read, I think Lily is a perfect demon and the representation of Satan is refreshing. All in all, I didn't mind the name dropping and the constant adoration of spending money, after thousands of years alive what else is there?? I enjoyed the scenery but would've enjoyed the book a bit more if it had focused on the mystery and action. More action, less stating the obvious three times over. I won't condemn a book that comes in a series if I haven't read it in it's entirety. I'm not the type of person who always believes that results are to be in the here an now. If the end is good, the wait and fustration will be well worth it. Curiosity will get the better of me.

November 26, 2008: I must say that this book was great. If you are a shopper then this book is also for you. It has some really great brand names mentioned in the book. I was hoping that she would come out with another book because I felt that this book was not done. I was so happy to see that I got the answer to my question in November of this year. I am reading the book Succubus Takes Manhattan and so far it is really good. When I am finished with this one i will be writing another review. Just dont forget you have to read this book before you read Succubus takes Manhattan or you will be lost.

I Also Recommend: Succubus Takes Manhattan.
