Pinkalicious achieved an almost-mythic level of popularity in the kindergarten at my son's school last year, as several of his classmates chose it as their "student of the week read-aloud selection." The teacher even picked it for the grade level's read-aloud to the whole school! When I expressed some surprise that they kept coming back to this book, my son assured me that everyone loves the book. It seems to be an instant classic. I think we can expect the same of Goldilicious, the third book in this series (following Purplicious). The title character is the unicorn pet of Pinkalicious. She is a ballet-twirling, roller-skating, picnicking, princess-protecting companion. Their play is pinktastic—until Pinkalicious' little brother Peter captures Goldilicious. It is pirate play followed by mermaid splashing, and it is all good fun until Goldilicious takes off in a hot air balloon. Will she ever return? Fear not.
