This is a comprehensive text of movement disorders. The purpose is to provide a general description of the various movement disorders and to aid the clinician in the complex task of identifying and treating these diseases. The editor's objectives are accomplished in a concise manner. The target audience is students, residents, and practitioners interested in movement disorders. This is a good general text that will be helpful for both general practitioners and specialists in neurology. The author is a specialist in the movement disorder field from a prominent hospital in England. The book is divided into 14 chapters, including chapters on Parkinson's disease, tics, tremor, dystonia, chorea, myoclonus, iatrogenic disorders, and psychogenic disorders. This is a unique addition to the movement disorders field because it includes a CD-ROM with video clips of the different diseases. This allows a comprehensive learning of the various disorders with written text and visual recognition. The CD-ROM is user friendly and cross-references similar movements. A useful table of contents and index are included. This is a good addition to the current textbooks of movement disorders and it is the only book I know of in the field with a CD-ROM. This makes it very useful and marketable. It will be a useful resource for students and residents to recognize these various diseases that otherwise may be rarely seen.
