(Paperback)
This collection offers teachers ideas for inspiring writers and improving their writing assignments. Drawing upon poetry, folk tales, jokes, and nursery rhymes, the exercises teach students in grades 3-8 to evaluate stories in terms of plot, character, setting, and situation. The exercises illustrate the process of creating new stories and turning them into scripts for choral readings, readers theater, and plays. Cobb is a writer and a classroom volunteer.
