October 23, 2007: This is the story, based on history, of a young Massachusetts lad who finds himself stranded in California in 1802. His exploits and accomplishments are described interestingly. His relationship with several Padres, his friendship with the Native Americans, his romance and marriage to the daughter of the Vice-Governor, create a novel of great excitement. The story continues through Morgan's endurance with earthquakes, fires, Native uprisings, and of his original hostility at the Padres, which mellows over the years. During his transition, he becomes a stalwart assistance to the Padres in building a new Mission and rebuilding another. The events of his life continue until finally California is admiited to the Union as the 31st State. Anyone that enjoys historical romance novels will fully enjoy 'Morgan's Mission'.
