      Synopsis

Lucien St. Aubyn and Elizabeth Montclair hate each other-well, perhaps not hate, but something akin to a strong loathing. Lucien sees Elizabeth as the biggest snob who ever danced upon Society's floors. She is proud, arrogant, the epitome of everything he despises-and the only woman who has ever resisted his charms. He devises a plan to seduce her, only to have it backfire.

Elizabeth feels that Lucien might well be the Anti-Christ. Suspected of killing his brother for the ducal title and known for charming every woman he meets out of her skirts, Elizabeth only sees Lucien for the degenerate and rake that he is and would rather cut off her limbs than to have anything to do with such a hateful man. When the two are caught alone by a woman who wastes no time in telling Elizabeth's mother, Elizabeth's worse fear comes true-she must marry a rake.

      STARRED REVIEW
It isn’t easy to write a tale that makes the reader laugh and cry, but Britton succeeds, thanks to her great characters: a hero who’s a much better man than society (or he) believes, a brave heroine who falls in love against her will, and memorable servants and villains.

Never touched a romance novel in my lifeby Anonymous

August 17, 2003: This book has changed my opinion on romance novels. I am an avid reader, but for the life of me I could never understand the attraction to romance novels. I thought they were a silly and a pointless waist of time. I thought that they all repeated the same thing over and over, a damsel in distress saved by the handsome prince. When I was in the bookstore the other day just browsing, this book caught my eye. So I decided to buy it. I read the whole book in one day. I haven't done that since I read Jurassic Park. The book of course was Seduced by Pamela Britton. Let me tell you it changed my opinion totally. It was funny, sad, witty, charming, sexy and just a great read. I litterally could not put it down, I just didn't want to. I was a little upset when I finished because I wanted to read more. This is one of the best books I have read in a long time, and believe me I read everything and am addicted to the bookstore. So if you have never liked romance novels or have never even read one, let this one be your first. I can't wait for her next book to come out. This book was really great. Because of this book I have decided to read some other romance novels, I just finished a couple of other books that I will put in my recommendations.
