BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR.
Only a woman with nothing left to lose knocks on a vampire's door and asks for help. Shannah Davis is convinced that the mysterious dark-haired man she's followed for months can save her life-if he doesn't kill her first. But though Ronan insists he can't give her what she needs, his kiss unleashes a primal hunger that makes her feel truly alive for the first time.
After centuries of existence, Ronan has done the unthinkable. He has fallen in love with a mortal-and one with only weeks to live. Sensing the fear and reluctance beneath Shannah's request, he offers her a different bargain that will keep her near him during the time she has left. Every hour spent together leaves him craving her touch, her scent, her life's essence. Soon, only Shannah can satisfy his thirst. But if he saves her from death, will she love him for it-or spend eternity regretting what she has become?
Amanda Ashley is one of those rare birds-a California native. She's lived in Southern California her whole life and, except for the earthquakes, loves it. She shares a home with her husband, as well as a fluffy Pomeranian named Teddi, a mischievous cat named Tigger, and a tortoise who remains nameless. Amanda and her alter ego, Madeline, have written 57 books. Not bad for someone who started writing just for the fun of it. Her books have made the New York Times List, the USA Today List, and the Waldenbooks Bestseller and Mass Market lists.

July 11, 2009: I'm trying to figure out if I've completely lost my mind because I just finished this book in one sitting and thought it was pretty good. Reading the reviews I'm wondering if I just thought it was good because the last three books I've read were crap (Blue Bloods, Need and Raven). hmmmm...
Anyways, I enjoyed the relationship between the two main characters. Sure, there's not a lot of action, but don't most people read these types of books for the relationship and romance anways? It was a really sweet and emotional read. The author tended to repeat herself a couple of times, which probably would've been ok if I hadn't read it all at once, to serve as a reminder. It was good, though, I thought. If you've read my recommendations, maybe we have similar taste and you'll like this as well.I Also Recommend: The Twilight Saga Collection, Sookie Stackhouse Box Set (Sookie Stackhouse / Southern Vampire Series), Glass Houses (Morganville Vampires Series #1), A Hunger like No Other (Immortals after Dark Series #1), Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy Series #1).
