The Bramford building's newest resident and small-town transplant Casey McCloy is adapting to life in the Big Apple and loving it. She's got the look, the attitude, and a delish new boyfriend, Drew Van Allen. But she's starting to have second thoughts as to whether the "New York" Casey is the real Casey. And she's not so sure she likes herself much anymore. She's not the only one.
Madison Macallister has always had her Manolo Blahniks firmly planted on the top rung of the social ladder-until that corn-fed cow Casey stole Drew away from her and made her look the fool. So what if Madison wasn't exactly dating Drew at the time? She wanted him. And everyone knows that Madison gets what she wants, like Drew-and a little revenge.
Jennifer Banash attended high school on Manhattan's Upper East Side. She lives with her beagle, Sigmund, and her vast designer shoe collection.

March 03, 2009: Ooooh this sequel to The Elite was soo much better. It keeps getting better and better. I can't wait for Simply Irresistible (July 2009)!!
****I wouldn't recommend reading this next paragraph if you still haven't read The Elite, I wouldn't want to spoil things for you****In this book Sophie (one of my favorite characters) has her sweet sixteen coming up and she is going all out. That night is going to be HUGE, especially since her biological mother is making an appearance (!!).There seems to be a bit of trouble in paradise for Drew and Casey, will they work it out?****It's safe to read from here****There's of course more drama here and there including some new problems for Drew, Phoebe, Sophie, Casey, well everyone actually. Some of those problems are HUGE.The writing of course continues to get better. I liked learning more about the characters and seeing how realistic they keep getting, it's nice to read something not so fictional. The problems these characters go through are real, they happen often as sadly and entertaining as that is.I loved the ending! There is a very interesting thing that will happen with the characters in the next novel and I can't wait to find out how everything will work out for everyone involved.-tvandbookaddict.blogspot.comReader Rating:

February 16, 2009:
In this second book in The Elite series, we continue with the young residents of the most exclusive building in the New York Upper East Side: the Bramford.
Madison, Casey, Sophie, Phoebe, and Drew are living the live of privileged New Yorkers. Expensive clothes, the best parties..
Madison is not amused when her ex-boyfriend is now the boyfriend of newcomer Casey.
Sophie has discovered that she is adopted, and she wants to meet her biological mother, who is a famous actress.
Phoebe sees her mom with another man in a hotel lobby and is furious. Drew has enough of the wealthy self absorbed New York girls. Will Casey be different from them? Or is she turning in a spoiled girl now, now she has that kind of friends...
If you like books like Gossip Girl and The Clique books. You will also like In Too Deep. It is written in the same kind of style, and it has the same kind of characters. It is fun to read, not the most original YA book, but hey, then it still is a cool read! Looking forward to the sequel!
