    Synopsis

Viking Nils Bjornsson turns his back on a warrior's reward to find his chieftain's stolen knife and erase the dishonor brought upon Nils's family. When he appeals to the Norse gods to send him a handmaiden to help him fulfill his pledge to bring the knife to his chieftain, he forgets how the old gods like to meddle in the lives of mortals.

Lady Linnea Sutherland knows her father wishes her to marry their neighbor Lord Tuthill. It is certain to be the perfect match for a Regency miss. But Linnea is looking for a hero, a man who excites her heart as boring Lord Tuthill does not. When she discovers Nils injured on the shore, she is caught up in the adventure of helping this handsome, dangerous man complete the vow he made nearly a millennium before. But first she must teach this Viking how to act like a Regency gentleman.

To help Nils means that Linnea must dare the ancient ways of his past and risk her future. In a game played in the Norse gods' hall of Asgard, two human hearts are of little consequence and love can become an ally or a foe.

December 08, 2000: Lady Linnea Sutherland knows better than to wander around alone. However, she needs time to mull over the offer of a betrothal from her neighbor Lord Tuthill, Randolph Denner. At one time all Linnea wanted was to be a spouse to Randolph, but now with the opportunity at hand it no longer feels right. When she reaches the nearby beach, she finds a badly injured person lying there. His speech is strange and his clothing weird and tattered. Linnea gets help.

Linnea?s demeanor, language, and garb confuses Nils. Further bewildering to Nils is to learn the year is 1817 and not 990. Apparently, as he had lied dying on this beach almost a millennium ago, Nils prayer to Freya had been answered. He asked for time to complete his blood vow before entering Valhalla, but by doing this he risks eternal damnation if he dies in this place and time. With he being the only one to see his blood enemy and Loki playing games, Nils chances of triumphing seem remote. Adding to his troubles, Linnea has fallen in love with him and to his amazement he reciprocates with the lass of Britannia.

MY LORD VIKING is a powerful time travel historical romance that shows the depth of talent of J.A. Ferguson. The story line is filled with action, fast-paced, and believability in the Nordic Gods. Linnea is an intrepid heroine and the displaced Nils struggles between adjustment, love, his eternal enemy, and his vow. The fabulous Fergy fervently fires fans with a winning tale that makes time travel feel romantically real.
