ASanity is only a state of mind . . .but love is forever! Author Grace Macguire has a small problem with three of her characters, a trio of fairy godmothers. They've come to life! Myrtle, Fern and Blossom promise to make all of Grace's wishes come true, but all she's wishing is that they will go away. Unfortunately, the fairies are here to stay. So Grace is going for some psychiatric assistance to help her with her sudden sanity-impairment.
In his career as a psychiatrist, Dr. Max Aaronson has never had a patient with fairy delusions. At least not until Grace walks into his office. But when Grace smiles, he finds he almost believes in magic. Nothing else could explain the effect she has on him.
As the fairies throw Max and Grace into one mishap after another, Grace has a hard time deciding if she's really sanity-impaired or simply . . . Mad About Max.

March 30, 2000: If you've always loved 'Cinderella' and were/are a fan of the old TV series, 'Bewitched,' then MAD ABOUT MAX is the book for you. As always in a book by Holly Fuhrmann, humor abounds in this contemporary tale of Grace, a romance writer whose fictional characters come to life--three fairy godmothers, no less, who are almost as bumbling as Samantha Steven's befuddled aunt and every bit as loveable. They set to work almost immediately to make Grace over and set her up with the perfect Prince Charming -- Max, a psychiatrist so handsome and charming you'll wish you could spend some time on his couch. And like any decent Prince Charming, he's more than capable of saving fair damsel from the clutches of the villain...with a little help from Fern, Myrtle and Blossom. That is, if this modern fair damsel hadn't already pretty well 'saved' herself. Curl up with MAD FOR MAX and a box of chocolates and just enjoy the fantasy. It's a fun ride from start to finish. But the fun doesn't stop with Max and Grace. Fern, Myrtle and Blossom will be at work again in the upcoming sequel: MAGIC FOR JOY. I can't wait.

February 15, 2000: It is not too many people who see their dreams come true before their thirtieth birthday, but Grace MacGuire is that rare individual who attains her goals. Her romance series is well received, leading to financial security and a long-term contract. However, she begins to wonder about her sanity when her characters, the fairies Fern, Blossom and Myrtle, appear in her car. They inform Grace that her life is incomplete until she meets her personal Prince Charming and they will insure that happens.
Thinking she suffers from delusions, Grace visits psychiatrist Dr. Artemis Aaronson (Max to his friends) in the hopes he can help her recover her mental health. However, with just one look at the handsome doctor Grace knows that he is the intended that the ladies have chosen for her. A chagrined Grace flees from Max. However, marvelous match making (or maybe meddling might be a more suitable word) on the part of the Fairies results in Max riding to the heroic rescue of a kidnapped Grace.
Fans of Debbie Macomber?s ?Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy? paranormal series will relish MAD ABOUT MAX, a humorous and lighthearted romp paranormal romp. The three well meaning but inept fairies are endearing characters that need future appearances to hone their ?skills?. The story line is funny and endearing due to the inept but well meaning actions of the fairies. Holly Fuhrmann provides an entertaining read that leaves her audience satisfied yet wanting more tales from this talented author.
